Another nice talk by this speaker. But again I am wondering why algorithmic information theory is not mentioned when patterns are explained. AIT has a precise and very general definition: Some given data has a pattern if there exists a program that computes the data but is shorter than the data. Scientific discovery is about finding those short programs.
