Description

Bill Sisson joined the Mobile Airport Authority as Executive Director in October 2008. He is responsible for the Mobile Regional Airport at Bates Field and the Brookley Industrial Complex near Downtown Mobile. The two airfields combined make up more than 3,700 acres of prime industrial development property. Mr. Sisson's primary responsibilities include developing commercial air service for the region as well as seeking industrial prospects by maintaining relationships with the Alabama Development Office, regional chambers of commerce, regional economic development organizations, and numerous county and city governments in the Central Gulf Coast area.

Before joining the Airport Authority, Mr. Sisson served as Vice President of Economic Development at the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce and as Vice President of Business Development at the Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce. His professional career includes positions held at the University of Southern Mississippi and at Dominion Bankshares and First Virginia Bank in Roanoke, Virginia.

Mr. Sisson earned his MBA from the University of Alabama, and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He also holds a diploma from the Institutes for Organizational Management. He is a member of Rotary International and serves on the Board of Directors for the Mobile Symphony Orchestra, and on the Board of Trustees for the United Way of Southwest Alabama and UMS-Wright School. He also serves on the Board of Advisors for the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce.
