Description

Carlotta Orsenigo is assistant professor of Operations Research at Politecnico di Milano, where she teaches courses in Optimization and Data Mining. After her graduation in Management and Production Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, she was assistant professor at the Department of Economics, Business and Statistics of University of Milan from 2005 to 2008. She is the scientific coordinator of the Observatory on Business Intelligence at Politecnico di Milano, which is aimed at investigating trends and best practices in the governance of business intelligence systems in Italian companies.

Her current research interests include the development of optimization models and algorithms for data mining and knowledge discovery, such as support vector machines and their variants, and their application to problems arising in several contexts, including biolife sciences, industrial economics and social network analysis.
