Conference on Climate Change 2007 - Brdo pri Kranju

Conference on Climate Change: An Opportunity for Growth, Brdo pri Kranju 2007

The Climate change: an opportunity for growth conference will address the issue of how to promote the move to a low carbon economy and how to change this acute environmental challenge into a business opportunity. Numerous ministers and other state dignitaries from EU countries and countries in SE Europe will participate in discussions led by Janez Podobnik, the Minister for the Environment and Spatial Planning, on the role of governments in planning, implementing and monitoring climate policies. Stavros Dimas, European Commissioner for the Environment, has announced he will participate in the conference, which will also include some leading business people. This important international event on the eve of the meeting of signatories to the Climate Convention and Kyoto Protocol in Bali represents an initiative by Slovenia, next holder of the EU Presidency, to implement European climate and energy objectives.
