I am a Ph.D. student at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). My research is predominantly concerned with developing neuromorphic active vision systems that will hopefully provide excellent performance in a variety of machine vision problems as well as contribute to our theoretical understanding of human vision and learning. I argue that to fully understand human vision we much take into account the movement of the eyes and their perceptual capabilities. My work is very interdisciplinary incorporating machine learning, computer vision, computational neuroscience, and psychology. I intend to graduate in 2012-2013.

My advisor is Garrison Cottrell, a leader in the field of computational psychology and neural networks.
