Description
Cloud computing has rapidly gained momentum in industry and research. The Silicon Valley is a unique ecosystem in the world with large companies like Google, Apple and a myriad of start-ups shaping the future of cloud computing together with leading research labs such as the AmpLab laboratory at UC Berkeley and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). While AmpLab research activities are at the intersection of machine learning, cloud computing, and crowd sourcing, researchers at LBNL investigate cloud computing and data analytics for Science. In my talk, I will present some of the on-going research and development projects on cloud computing carried out in the San Francisco Bay area.
