Zavod e-Oblak (EuroCloud Slovenia chapter) is a nonprofit organization in Slovenia, and a member of EuroCloud Europe. [http://www.eurocloud.si]. The organization is focused on starup and innovation within European organizations and supporting the value-chain and financing of R&D. Competence centre has been involved, through EuroCloud Europe activities, in preparation of EU cloud strategy and is active outside of the EU as well, for example in China. Ministry of Interior, IT and E-Services Directorate Director-General is responsible for implementation of governmental cloud computing strategy implementation within public authorities, named “Quantum Leap1”.

The computing competence centre in Slovenia on Cloud computing is one of the seven competence centres in Slovenia running one of the biggest cloud structural funds projects in Europe from 2011-2013. This project has selected as an example of best practice to be shown to EU Commission 2. The competence centre is responsible for knowledge transfer from research institutions to the industry through the cloud competence centre within the Slovene Chamber of Commerce. There were a lot of prototypes developed, with the scope of positioning around 20 new services on the market by the members of Class consortia 3. Some members of EuroCloud Slovenia are currently also active within the EU funded project CloudCatalyst 4. This ambitious project aims to provide clear benefits for European businesses, public entities, ICT providers and other Cloud stakeholders eager to develop and use cloud solutions, and to increase cloud computing adoption. This will contribute to increased competitiveness of the EU economy, will overcome challenges of cloud computing expansion and impart many entrepreneurial opportunities.

Members of competence centre employs about 400 researchers and developers. As a result, it offers a cutting edge know-how on security, mobile applications and terminals, identity management, data processing, quality assurance, high availability computation, serviceoriented architecture, infrastructures, etc. Members cover business, logistics, medical and environmentalist informational systems. We also emphasise addressing knowledge transfer systems.
