Description

This presentation will cover how things get done inside a health system Information Technology department: how priorities are set and long range plans met and how this has lead to an enterprise wide data warehouse. Given that data can be collected and a data warehouse can be built, this presentation will cover how well this works for operational and research staff. The issues in supporting the EMR and making the right data available to the researchers using the EMR and data warehouse will be outlined. Examples from NorthShore will be used to show what has been done and what can be done in the near future.
