Description

I am currently working as a post-doctoral researcher, gratefully supported by the Embark Initiative Post-Doctoral Fellowship scheme, at Cork Institute of Technology. My research interests are in the areas of automatic music transcription and sound source separation. My PhD focused specifically on the automatic transcription of drum sounds from audio signals, while my current research focuses on sound source separation and transcription of pitched instruments, mainly through the use of sparse coding approaches such as non-negative matrix factorization (or factorisation as I prefer to spell it!!!) and non-negative tensor decompositions. A number of my publications in this area are available below.
