Description

Friction and dissipation are important and Simulations and theory can help understand and predict some physical phenomena through the mark they leave in dissipation and sliding friction at the nanoscale, which thus represents a sort of spectroscopic tool for the blind man. Beyond that, the effort to build some theory reveals aspects and phenomena that were unexpected.
