Description

Although a College of Law and law graduate, Dominic Oldman has spent most of his career in computing and is currently the Acting Head of Information Systems at the British Museum, London, and heads the Systems Development team.

He has been involved in systems integration and data accessibility and managed the implementation of the British Museum’s Collection Online service. He is currently leading the development of a semantic, computer reusable, collection data service.

He is particularly interested in the use of cultural heritage data in web applications and for research purposes. He is also the Principal Investigator of ResearchSpace , a project to develop a collaborative online research environment using rich semantic datasets.

He is the chair of the Bloomsbury Digital Humanities Group and has a postgraduate degree in Digital Humanities from King’s College, London.
