Professor of Physics at the University of Michigan. Holds a joint appointment in the Department of Physics and the Center for the Study of Complex Systems. Also a member of the External Faculty of the Santa Fe Institute. Research interests: Networks and graph theory; Phase transitions and critical phenomena; Monte Carlo methods; Glassy spin systems; Prehistoric evolution and extinction.
