ECML PKDD 2008 - Antwerp

European Conference on Machine Learning and Principles and Practice of Knowledge Discovery in Databases (ECML PKDD), Antwerp 2008

The European Conference on Machine Learning and Principles and Practice of Knowledge Discovery in Databases (ECML PKDD) will be located in Antwerp, Belgium, from September 15th to 19th, 2008. This event builds upon a very successful series of 18 ECML and 11 PKDD conferences, which have been jointly organized for the past seven years. It has become the major European scientific event in these fields and in 2008 it will comprise presentations of contributed papers and invited speakers, a wide program of workshops and tutorials, a discovery challenge, a demo track and an industrial track.

Reviews and comments:

Comment1 Sonal Gupta, October 15, 2008 at 8:12 p.m.:

I hope you could have recorded all the talks rather than some sessions.

Comment2 Katharina Morik, October 30, 2008 at 3 p.m.:

A big thank for the videos goes to to Josef Stefan Institute! However, everything which is good can become better...

The videos should show the transparencies! Sometimes, the speaker is just referring to the slide, where all the interesting information is located -- and in the video you don't see it!
Particularly in Bart's introduction, all the figures about participation etc. are on the slides, which are not shown.
But also in scientific talks, this happens quite often.

The invited talk of Yoav Freund was not recorded. However, he himself has contributed his lecture in the form of the slides and his voice. This very exciting talk should be included in the collection!

Katharina
