EMENDER 2015 - Ljubljana

1st International Workshop on Energy Management, Prediction and Big Data Elaboration (EMENDER), Ljubljana 2015

The EMENDER 2015 workshop is promoted by the European Project NRG4Cast – Energy Forecasting, co-funded by the European Commission’s Seventh Framework Program for Research and Technological Development. Details about venue and accommodation will be communicated in September.

In the area of energy planning and optimisation there are limited solutions available that can be easily used by policy makers. Also, although a variety of solutions for the planning of energy efficient buildings exists, still the optimisation relies only on the expert decision. NRG4Cast advances the existing solutions in many ways: integrating statistical and advanced machine learning methods, knowledge extraction and knowledge formalisation and reasoning methods in a coherent context for rich decision support system. NRG4Cast project deals with mass amount of multimodal data in real-time. The outcomes of the above research activities it is time to be discussed within the scientific community of the energy sector.

The aim of EMENDER2015 is to set up an international energy modelling community, in order to provide feasible solutions to decision makers for energy planning. The scope of the workshop encompasses environmental and economic constraints, energy projections, views on future energy developments and on sustainable energy, new trends in global energy production and consumption, energy monitoring systems.

Also, design methodologies and technologies implementation will be widely discussed, since the exponential increase in deployment of technologies creates new and critical energy consumption problems. Therefore, new architectures, technologies and systems are needed to make computing and networked system more energy efficient and sustainable.
