Description

Stanford's Autonomous Helicopter project pushes the limits of autonomous flight control by teaching a computer to fly a competition-class remote controlled (RC) helicopter through a range of aerobatic stunts. Our apprenticeship learning approach learns to fly the helicopter by observing human demonstrations and is capable of a wide variety of expert maneuvers. In many cases, it can even exceed the performance of the human expert from which it learned. http://heli.stanford.edu.

yeah but can you teach it to fly with style? and 3 inches off the ground while doing these manuvers?
i think humans still have the upper hand.
when i watch this i cant help but think about all the military purposes that could progress from this.. talk about a scary thought.
you could have your house blown up by a passer by R/C helicopter robot doing piroflips.
how do you fight back against that?
