This is fantastic. It is very encouraging to note that businesses are emerging from old school of management styles to accomodate Human Rights as priority in the way thy are doing business.In this context, it is therefore important for business organizations to re-think and address Human Rights as an important factor in business strategy. It should not be viewed as a threat to business sustainability. Though this seminar captured corporate businesses, it's intended purpose should also be spread and imlpimented to small and medium level enterprises. One of humankind’s greatest challenges this century is to ensure a sustainable, just and balanced development. The needs of current and future generations cannot be met unless there is respect for Human Rights systems and internationally accepted social standards aimed at protecting core Social-Economic, political and Environmental Values.

In this context, it is increasingly recognized that the role of the business sector is critical. As a part of society, it is in business’ interest to contribute to addressing common problems affecting it and the society. Strategically speaking, businesses can only flourish when the communities and ecosystems in which they operate in are respected and healthy.

Kofi Annan, the former UN Secretary General once said that the world’s greatest need today is political, Social-economic and enviromental sustainability.

We cant attain this unless we value Human beings and accord them the vital need; respect for Human Rights.
