Description
I'm interested in the representation of musical knowledge with Semantic Web technologies, and the possibilities to provide automatical reasoning support for music analysis and generation. In my thesis I develop pattern descriptions of chord sequences with the Description Logic OWL and use them for harmonic and style classification as well as variation of chords. I also develop a diagrammatic user interface to provide a musicologist with possibilities to annotate musical score (MPEG-SMR) with music-analytical descriptions and textual metatdata. The automatic reasoning services are used to provide query facilities, consistency checks and suggestions for constructs.
