Danilo Türk se je udeležil Managerskega kongresa 2011, kjer je imel nagovor na temo "Razvojne paradigme včeraj in danes". Izpostavil je, da je 30 let sodeloval v razpravah o indikatorjih družbenega razvoja in pripravi sestavljenih indeksov razvoja, kot sta indeks človekovega razvoja, ki ga je oblikoval Program Združenih narodov za razvoj, ter indeks boljšega življenja, ki ga je sestavila Organizacija za gospodarsko sodelovanje in razvoj.
