Description
Born in Slovenia, Matevž Rašković worked as Assistant Professor of international business at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Economics prior to joining Victoria University of Wellington, School of International Marketing and Business in February 2018 as a Senior Lecturer. He was the 2017 conference co-chair at the 4th AIB-CEE chapter conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia and is guest editor for a special issue in Journal of Business Research on business with Central and Eastern Europe.
Matevž received his PhD and MSc from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia in 2012 and 2007. He is the recipient of the 2013 University of Ljubljana President’s Award for Outstanding Achievement of Young Faculty. Matevz was a Fulbright Fellow at Harvard University, FAS Sociology in 2017 and a visiting doctoral student at Harvard, FAS Sociology in 2010-2011.
Matevž is a member of the Academy of International Business (AIB) and a board member of the AIB-CEE chapter since 2016. He is also a member of the European Academy of International Business (EIBA). He has advised the Ministry of the Economy of the Republic of Slovenia regarding issues related to economic cooperation with China and is a member of the 16+1 China-CEE Think Tank Network at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and its 16+1 China-CEEC Institute in Budapest, Hungary. He was Head of the Master of International Business program at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Economics between 2015 and 2018. His consultancy work back in Slovenia focused on building an international mindset for local Slovenian SMEs, as well as helping Slovenian firms in the Chinese market.
