Description

My name is Mick Kerrigan and I am a PhD research student based in the Semantic Technology Institute (STI) in the University of Innsbruck. I am originally from Dublin, Ireland and received my Bachelors degree in Computer Science from University College Dublin (UCD) in 2001. While in UCD my research interests where in the areas of AI Techniques and Web Search, where I was involved in the I-Spy project. I received my Masters Degree from National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG) in 2006 for my thesis "WSMOViz: An Ontology Visualization Approach for the Web Service Modeling Ontology (WSMO)".

Since starting in STI in late 2004 (Formerly known as DERI) I have become interested in Semantic Web Services and I am the co-chair of the OASIS SEE Technical Committee, where we are currently standardizing the architecture of Semantic Execution Environments. Within STI I am the chair of the Developer Tools Working Group and I was the former chair of the Technical Task Force for aligning all development efforts within STI Innsbruck between 2006 and 2009.

I also contribute to a number of open source projects, namely the WSMX project, WSMT Project, WSMO4J project, the JPowerGraph project and the PowerSwing project.
