Description

Governor Romney was elected Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 2002 and took office in January 2003.

Prior to that he was the President and CEO of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Winter Olympics. From 1978 through 1984, Mr. Romney was a Vice President of Bain & Company, Inc., the Boston-based management consulting firm. In 1984, Mr. Romney founded Bain Capital, a successful venture capital and investment company.

Governor Romney received his BA from Brigham Young University in 1971. In 1975, he was awarded an MBA from Harvard Business School and was named a Baker Scholar. In 1975, he also received his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
