Description

Myrna Flores obtained the degree of Mechanical Engineering at the Instituto Tecnólogico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), Mexico in 1996 and obtained a Masters in Science in Manufacturing Systems in the same institution in 1999. She participated in the international Post Degree Course on Technologies and Sustainable Development held in Indian Institute of Technology in Madras, India in 2005. She has finished her PhD studies in Economics, Management and Industrial Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano in May 2006. She works at SUPSI iCIMSI in Switzerland since 2002 as a R&D Engineer in the Quality, Production and Management department were she participated to the Mastrit Skin project to analyse the feasibility of implementing a B2B platform to improve Supply Chain operations in the leather sector. To perform the analysis she used the SCOR model and presented results in the SCOR Atlanta conference in 2002. She also organized the IFIP international conference PRO-VE for Virtual Organizations in Lugano in 2003. Previously, she worked in General Electric as a R&D Engineer in the Corporate Research and Development (CR&D) Center developing projects as a Six Sigma Green Belt to improve manufacturing and logistics operations. Later within the GE Industrial Systems business unit in the Sourcing department, she led a project to implement GE E-business solutions in more than 2000 suppliers in USA leading a team of 20 persons. She also led a global project to implement and audit GE Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) policies in suppliers. She has presented more than 15 articles in international conferences in Europe, USA, Mexico and Brazil.
