International environmental symposium Nanomaterials: their impact on humans and on the environment

In collaboration with the Faculty of Law of the University of Ljubljana, the French Institute has organized a conference entitled 'Nanomaterials: their impact on humans and on the environment'. This event has taken place the 20th May 2011, from 9am to 6pm at the Faculty of Law, and has been held in English (without translation).

This French-Slovene event has sought to establish state of the art research on nanomaterials, as well as detailing the different scenarios of possible exposure, and the laws currently in place at both local and European levels to prevent health risks.

The scientific lectures has been given by French experts coming from the CNRS (National center of scientific research) and by Slovene experts coming from the Jozef Stefan Institute, the faculty of pharmacology of Ljubljana and the National Institute of Biology. The legal aspects has been discussed by experts coming from the European Commission and from the chemical office of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Slovenia.
