Description

Norbert Gorißen (46) heads the division International and EU Affairs in the Field of Renewable Energies
in the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. In this capacity he
was responsible for the preparation and organisation of the International Conference for Renewable
Energies in Bonn in June 2004 (renewables 2004). He represents Germany in the Renewable Energy
Working Party of the International Energy Agency in Paris.
He joined the Ministry in 1999 and worked for 3 years as a desk officer in the European Union division.
Between 1986 and 1999 he held different positions in the Federal Environmental Agency of Germany and
worked on various aspects of transport and environment, in both a national and international context. He
has a masters' degree in mechanical engineering from the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technical University

Aachen.
