Description

I am a CIFAR Junior Research Fellow at the University of Toronto. My research focuses on machine learning and computational statistics, but I am broadly interested in questions related to artificial intelligence, computational neuroscience, machine vision, and Bayesian nonparametrics.

Being a Junior Fellow is like being a very flexible postdoc. I split my time between the Department of Computer Science, where I work with Geoffrey Hinton and Richard Zemel, and the Department of Engineering, where I work with Brendan Frey. I did my PhD at Cambridge University with David MacKay, where I was a member of St. John's College and a Gates Cambridge Scholar. You can view my CV here.
