SEAS Workshop: Boost the Knowledge Model and the Pilot Development, Paris 2015
The ITEA2 SEAS project organized a workshop at the Engie headquarters in Paris, in December 2015. The goals of this ...
SEAS - Smart Energy Aware Systems
The SEAS (Smart Energy Aware Systems) ITEA 2 project is to enable interactions for all market players in real time for consumption and production energy systems, automation and ICT Information and Communications Technology systems in order to optimize global energy consumption.
SEAS platform will allow to charge electric cars, produce warm water, triggering home appliances (dryer, washing machines, refrigerators, etc…) and other activities requiring electricity, in accordance with weather information, available production capacity, local constraints of distribution network and other many factors.
These operations will be enabled automatically, by remote control, without further consequences in the distribution of energy (over or under-voltage, etc.), at the best price for consumers.
A self-adaptive system
These « smart energy aware » systems will be self-adaptive, able to control on a semi-automatic or autonomous way the energy consumption and production, thanks to a semantic understanding of the system and its context.
Active consumer participation
As the role of the consumer is changing, becoming a producer or acting upon its consumption, she becomes an active consumer. This evolution generates a genuine complexity of choices concerning energetic services and cost optimization.
A benefit for all energy players
In the end, the SEAS knowledge open model, public and standardized is a step forward to the development of HUB or Exchange platforms of open data.
These tools should make easier the task of providers, distributors and energy authorities and should allow a better control of the development of public supply networks.
