Description
I am a Research Scientist at Google, working on problems involving natural language processing and machine learning. I graduated from UC Berkeley in the summer of 2009, where I worked on learning grammars for syntactic parsing, speech recognition, and machine translation with my advisor Dan Klein. Here is a video of my job talk, and here are my research and teaching statements.
Prior to Berkeley I spent a year as an exchange student at Duke University, where I worked with Carlo Tomasi on gesture recognition. My Master's degree is from the Free University of Berlin, where I was part of the team that won the RoboCup world championship in robotic soccer under the supervision of Raul Rojas.
I grew up in Berlin, Germany, but I am originally from Sofia, Bulgaria. I therefore consider myself a Berliner from Bulgaria. Whenever Bulgaria plays Germany in soccer, I support Bulgaria.
