Description

Evolutionary algorithms for optimization of dynamic problems have recently received increasing attention; though, moderately few investigations have been carried out on real-world problems. From an optimization point of view, online control is a particularly interesting class of dynamic problems, because of the interactions between the controller and the controlled system. In this seminar, we introduce the technique called direct control with evolutionary algorithms and various aspects related to this approach. The aspects are exemplified in an empirical study of greenhouse control..
