Prof Stefan Decker is a professor at RWTH Aachen University and the director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology in Germany. Previously he held positions at the National University of Ireland and as the director of the Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI) in Galway, Ireland, the Information Sciences Institute of the University of Southern California, USA, Stanford University and the University of Karlsruhe (now KIT). He is working on Linked Data and Semantic Web technology since 1998. His current research interest includes Prototypes for Knowledge Representation and Knowledge Pipelines as well as applications for Linked Data Technologies in the life sciences and humanities.
