Description

My research is aimed at developing theoretical and computational models of auditory perception, focussing on the representation of the timbre of sounds and the segregation and grouping of sounds within a complex acoustic scene. In this work I try to combine insights gained from detailed neurocomputational modelling of the thalamocortical auditory system, with computationally efficient implementations for practical applications, and psychophysical experiments in which novel stimuli are designed in order to explore the representational space and the influence of attention and memory on signal-driven processing.
