Description

I hold a diploma (2004) and PhD (2009) in Geoinformatics; both from the University of Muenster, Germany. I worked at the Institute for Geoinformatics in Muenster for more than seven years, as a member of MUSIL (Münster Semantic Interoperability Lab). During this time I was involved in numerous national and European research projects aiming at semantic enablement for Spatial Data Infrastructures. From 2006 to 2009 I also worked as technical consultant for Geospatial Partners s.r.l

My research is focusing on the translation of geospatial data and interoperable service architectures. In October 2009, I became post-doc at JRC. Here, I continue my work on data transformation and elaborates on future internet technologies, especialy in relation to Digital Earth, Sensor Web and Linked Data.

Along these lines, I created the following groups in the INSPIRE Forum:

  • The Future Sensor Web
  • Linked Data and INSPIRE
  • Exploration
