Description

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Calvin group of the Computer Vision Laboratory of ETH Zurich

Before that I was a researcher and PhD student in the Human Language Technology and Pattern Recognition Group of RWTH Aachen University where I was the head of the image processing and understanding group since 2005.

I obtained both my PhD and my diploma degree from RWTH Aachen University.

My personal research interests include machine learning and pattern recognition in computer vision, e.g. object detection and recognition, content-based image retrieval, but also data mining, and a little bit of everything.
