Description

Marijin dvor centre is one of the most attractive parts of Sarajevo, for it lies on the line of contact between the historical core and the modern part of town. Here the city emerges from the basin and starts its expansion towards the Sarajevo plain, developing linearly along the main city avenue. As a result, the Marijin dvor area, from the point of view of both form and content, is the most important connecting point in the continuity of urban development. Consideration of its conceptualisation has lasted more than half a century – for some 63 years in fact.
