Description

Dr. Jiang studied Computer Science at Peking University, China, and received his PhD and Venia Docendi (Habilitation) degree in Computer Science from the University of Bern, Switzerland. He was an associate professor at the Technical University of Berlin, Germany. Since 2002 he is a full professor of Computer Science at University of Münster, Germany. His research interests include medical image analysis, 3D image analysis, structural pattern recognition, and mobile multimedia. Currently, he is the Editor-in-Chief of Int. Journal of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence. He is also serving on the editorial advisory board of Int. Journal of Neural Systems, The Open Artificial Intelligence Journal, and Int. Journal of BioSciences and Technology. In addition he is an editorial board member of IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics - Part B, Int. Journal of Image and Graphics, Electronic Letters on Computer Vision and Image Analysis, Pattern Recognition, Int. Journal of Functional Informatics and Personalized Medicine, and Chinese Science Bulletin. Dr. Jiang is involved in organizing several international confereneces; in the recent past these include The First Int. Workshop on Mobile Multimedia Processing (2008), Int. Conf. on Medical Biometrics (2008), Int. Conf. on Medical Biometrics (2010), and The 13th Int. Conference on Computer Analysis of Images and Patterns (2009). Currently, he serves as Co-Chair of the Computer Vision Track at 12th Int. Conference on Pattern Recognition (2010), Program Committee Co-Chair of Int. Symposium on Computational Models for Life Sciences (2011), and Co-Chair of The Second Int. Workshop on Mobile Multimedia Processing (2010), the 8th GbR (Graph-Based Representations, 2011). He is Senior Member of IEEE and Fellow of IAPR.
