Description

Yuefeng Li is the Leader of eDiscovery Lab (iCi), the HDR coordinator of Computer Science and an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Science and Technology at Queensland University of Technology, Australia. He has made significant contributions to the areas of Web Intelligence, Ontology Learning, Text and Data Mining, and has been an active contributor to the development of these exciting research areas. A/Prof. Li has published over 100 refereed papers (including 30 journal papers). He is also a co-author of one book, and an editor of five books. He has demonstrable experience in leading large-scale research projects and has achieved many established research outcomes that have been published and highly cited in some A* or A Journals (Journal of MIS, DSS, IEEE TKDE) and A Conferences (KDD, ICDM, CIKM, Hypertext), and a series of publications in Web Intelligence conferences.

He is an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence, (ISI listed master journal), and an Associate Editor of the IEEE Intelligent Informatics Bulletin. He has established a strong reputation internationally in the above research fields. He has been invited for keynote speech for the 1st International Workshop on Web Intelligence meets Brain Informatics, China, 2006; and the International Workshop on Web personalization and Recommender Systems, Canada, 2010. He has also been invited to be a program chair of several International Conferences (AMT05, ATM06 and RSKT09), a guest editor of two special issues, and a workshop co-chair of IEEE/WIC/ACM International Conferences on WI and IAT in 2007, 2008 and 2010. In addition, he has conducted productive research collaborations with international research teams in Web Intelligence, Text mining, Data Mining, Ontology Learning and Web Personalization.

He has supervised six PhD students and two Master by research students to successful completion at QUT, including an Outstanding Doctoral Thesis, two best papers, and a Deans Award for Academic Excellent for PhD. Up to now, A/Prof. Li has attracted external funding over one million dollars in total in the past 6 years, including two ARC Discovery grants (1st CI), one ARC linkage project, three CRC projects and one ATN project.
