Description

Completed a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science at Royal Holloway College (2002), followed by an MSc in Computer Science by research: machine learning strand (2003). This was also completed at Royal Holloway under the guidance of Professor John Shawe-Taylor. Received a PhD (also with John Shawe-Taylor) from the University College London for the thesis titled “Sparsity in Machine Learning: Theory and Practice” (2008).

Research interests: Sparse learning algorithms, set covering machines, sample compression bounds, matching pursuit algorithms, support vector machines and multiple kernel learning.
