Description

Dr. Anna V. Zhdanova is a Senior Researcher / Project Manager at ftw. – The Telecommunications Research Center Vienna, Austria. Earlier she worked as a researcher at the University of Surrey, UK, and at DERI, University of Innsbruck, Austria. Anna has been extensively involved in acquisition of European projects related to Semantic technologies as well as acting as a project manager at the organization’s side (FP7 IST STREP m:Ciudad for ftw., FP6 IST IP SPICE for University of Surrey, FP5 IST project Esperonto for DERI) and as a technical contributor/deliverable leader (NoE KnowledgeWeb, hTechSight, IP DIP and an Austrian FFG project SemNetMan). In summer semesters 2004 and 2005, she was leading seminars on Semantic Web technologies for bachelor students in a weekly course “Telecooperation” at the University of Innsbruck, and in spring 2005 she was a lecturer on “Ontology Engineering” in Semantic Web School in Vienna. Anna has been a doctoral student in Informatics at the University of Innsbruck has defended her PhD thesis “An approach to ontology construction and its application to community portals” in 2006. She has received a diploma in Mathematics and Computer Science equivalent to the Masters degree in 2003 from Novosibirsk State University, Russia. She is an author of ca. 35 refereed papers in international journals, conference and workshop proceedings.
