Celia Moore is Manager of Corporate Community Relations IBM Europe, Middle East, Africa. Celia joined IBM in 1995 to implement a new pan-European strategy for Community Involvement. She currently manages programmes across more than 25 countries which focus on how Information Technology innovations can help solve social issues, particularly in education. IBM's portfolio of education programmes which are driving higher standards in schools include: Reinventing Education, which builds teacher skills for teaching and learning with IT through collaborative processes; TryScience.org provides new Web - based learning resources for science; KidSmart early learning programme introduces IT in the Kindergarten and helps bridge the digital divide through targeting disadvantaged communities; and MentorPlace links students and teachers in schools to IBM volunteers. IBM's programme On Demand Community supports IBM staff to volunteer in the community backed up by resources available 24/7 which extend our education programmes and deliver added value to volunteering across the range of social issues.

Celia is a member of the Board of Directors of CSR Europe and the European Academy of Business in Society.

Before joining IBM Celia had extensive experience of engaging the corporate sector in social issues, and creating public private partnerships, from various roles in the voluntary sector. She was Deputy Chief Executive and Operations Director at Action Resource Centre, a UK agency specialising in business involvement in the community. Prior to that at Apex Trust she worked with companies on employing white-collar ex-offenders, and involved them in running careers advice sessions inside juvenile offender institutions and residential children's homes. From there she went on to specialise in developing preventive services for young people at a social services policy unit and the Intermediate Treatment Fund.
