Description

His professional career started in 1998 at Tris-A Ltd, a little software company developing custom IT solutions and maintaining complex mainframe systems. Main customers were large companies, insurance and Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Internal Affairs of Republic of Slovenia.

As IT specialist, he was employed at Slovenian Labour Union from 2002 to 2004. His tasks were encompassing development of custom software applications, system admin tasks and periodical education for Union’s members.

Involvement with European projects began at Jožef Stefan Institute in 2005. JSI is central research organization for natural and life sciences in Slovenia, He was involved in preparation and execution of different types of European projects; from Framework Programmes (FP6 and FP7), Competitiveness and Innovation Programmes (CIP) to Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) and EUREKA initiatives.

One of his goals is to strengthen country's research capabilities and enhance knowledge transfer. For this purpose, he has collaborated on IRC project intended for promoting methods and hardware solutions from Slovenian hi-tech companies to EU market and vice versa. He was in the team developing Videlectures.net, one of the world’s biggest video lectures repositories. This was next to the writing projects involving R&D and SME's..

David is at his best when lobbying for the new research projects, preparing technical documentation and forming various international projects’ consortia. He is an experienced project writer, with ability to clearly communicate mission and work tasks from given technical documentation to any relevant researcher or business collaborator.

(Small) Part of his time is dedicated for studying e-science at JSI Postgraduate School. He is hoping to develop robust mHealth system for classifying patients with cardiovascular diseases and suggesting appropriate medical treatment.
