Description

E. Göran Salerud, was born in Vimmerby, Sweden, on January the 7, 1954. He received the MSc degree from Linköpings universitet in 1979 and the Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering in 1986 also from Linköpings universitet, Sweden.

Dr. Salerud was awarded the Young investigator's award, International Institute of Microcurculation, at the XIV International Conference of European Society for Microcirculation in 1986.

He has held the position as director of studies in Biomedical Engineering from 1986 to 1990 and again from 2000 and forward. Since 1986 he also has been responsible for the curriculum in Biomedical Engineering. He is appointed as professor in Biomedical Instrumentation from 2003.

Professor Salerud's main research fields are biomedical optics, biomedical signal and image processing. Developing research fields are spectroscopy, pattern recognition and the use of information technology in Biomedical Engineering research especially in microcirculation.
