Description

Irwin Mark Jacobs, one of the founders of the Company, has served as a director, and as Chairman until March 2009, since we began operations in July 1985. He also served as Chief Executive Officer of the Company from July 1985 to June 2005. Dr. Jacobs received a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University and M.S. and Sc.D. degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Irwin Jacobs is Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and Chairman of the National Academy of Engineering. He has received numerous industry, education and business awards, including a Woodrow Wilson Award for Corporate Citizenship in 2004, a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2001 and the National Medal of Technology in 1994. Dr. Irwin Jacobs is the father of Dr. Paul Jacobs, our Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
