Description

Ratko Magjarevic is associate professor of Electronic Instrumentation and Biomedical Electronics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb, Croatia. He received his mr.sc. and dr. sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Zagreb in 1994.

Following the appointment in industry, he joined the Department for Electronic Systems and Information Processing at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb in 1984 as research assistant. In 1996 he was promoted to assistant professor and in 2001 to associate professor. He is also teaching at the Polytechnic University of Dubrovnik, Croatia and at the Postgraduate Specailistic Studies at the University of Trieste, Italy. His main research interest is in the areas of development of minimally invasive biomedical instrumentation, in particular in optimisation of external pacing, ECG processing and bioimpedance measurement. He published more than 40 scientific papers in journals and conference proceedings, several chapters in books and was editor of two conference proceedings.

He is Secretary General of Croatian Medical and Biological Engineering Society affiliated to the IFMBE. He is a member of two IFMBE Committees and a member of the IFMBE EAMBS Proterm Group. In 2002, he was appointed to the Editor of the IFMBE News.
