Description

I am a Ph.D. candidate in the College of Computing at Georgia Tech. I am advised by Professor Amy Bruckman. My research involves the design, measurement, and analysis of social computing applications towards positive social outcomes. Most recently, my research examines how people's technical capital-their access to technical expertise within their social networks-develops as a function of their relationship with family, friends, peers, and local community members. I use ego network analysis methods and extend them in novel settings. My dissertation work explores parents and parenting strategies with respect to their kids' Internet use. My research spans areas of Social Computing, HCI, and Social Network Analysis.
