Description

In 1993, Taras Kytsmey together with his associates founded SoftServe, presently a leading software development company in Eastern Europe. During the years, SoftServe has gained numerous professional achievements and successfully extended its client base by completing an ever-increasing number of projects for the US, Canadian, Western European and Ukrainian companies.

In the early days of SoftServe, Taras was instrumental in delivery of more than 25 software projects, mostly in the Information Systems, based-on client-server architecture. Being one of the key people in the growing company, Taras assumed the role of the president of SoftServe in 1997. Since then he is responsible for development of company strategy, structure, and human resources policy, as well as managing operations. Taras constantly challenges SoftServe professionals to deliver cost-effective, practical and innovative solutions within Software Manufacturing Cycle framework.

Taras Kytsmey is a frequent speaker on panels related to offshore software development industry in Ukraine, as SoftServe is a co-founder of IT Ukraine Association and a member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine.

Taras graduated from the Applied Mathematics Faculty of Lviv National Ivan Franko University and obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science with thesis in Fuzzy Database Systems. During 1992-2002 he has worked as professor at the National University Lviv Polytechnic.
