Description

Weren de Vet (1962) started studying Civil Engineering at the TU Delft in 1988. In 1997 he graduated in drinking water supply at this department. During his study, he was engaged in several related work fields. In 1992 he worked for three months on a drinking water internship in Chile. In 1994 he published a historical inventory of equipment for soil mechanics and foundation industry for the 45-th anniversary of KivI-section of soil engineering.

He finished his master thesis on pilot research for the water production works of Heel of drinking water company WML in Limburg, Holland, supervised by prof. ir J.C. van Dijk.

From 1997 to 2001 and from 2004 till present, Weren de Vet has been employed as a drinking water specialist by Oasen Drinking Water Company in Gouda, Holland. Here, he worked in a broad field of technological subjects, both in research and as a consultant. Among these subsurface and normal aeration, filtration, nitrification, wash water reuse by ultra filtration and desalination by RO take a central role.

Between 2001 and 2004 he worked as drinking water specialist for Hydron Advies en Diensten, Nieuwegein, the consultancy agency of the three Hydron drinking water companies in the center of Holland. Here he was involved in several household and process water projects and worked as a technical manager for several process water plants.

In June 2006 Weren de Vet started his PhD-research on enhancement of nitrification in unsaturated drinking water filters.
