Primarily Dr Žarko Lazarević deals with economic history. The research field encompasses many aspects of the economic development of Slovenia, and in particular the development of agriculture, the processes of industrialisation, co-operatives, and development of financial institutions in Slovenia. All this is accompanied by the research of the way economic processes come to influence the social structure, especially the longterm changes in the structure of the ecomonic and social picture in Slovenia.
