Description
English:
Symmetry is a word fraught with many meanings, both technical and personal. In art, there is no better exemplar than the Dutch graphic artist M. C. Escher (1898-1972) through which to explore these meanings. Through his work, we explore these aspects of symmetry: balance, duality, regularity, invariance, repetition, economy, closure. Not only does Escher's work provide intriguing depictions and uses of symmetry, but it also raises some interesting mathematical questions about symmetry.
Slovensko:
Skozi njegova dela bomo raziskali naslednje aspekte simetrije: uravnovešenost, dvojnost, stalnost, enakost, ponavljanje, ekonomija, zaključenost.
