The Department of Communication Systems is concerned mainly with the research, development and design of next generation networks and wireless access systems, and the development of new algorithms for parallel and distributed computing and computer simulations. Other research activities include the development of software tools for testing, modeling and simulation of communication systems, provision of security services in communication networks, digital signal processing in medicine, etc. With its research and development activities the department has been actively involved in national and international projects including Framework Programme and Structural Funds projects.
