Comment1 Michael Thorner, May 6, 2009 at 11:45 p.m.:

I was first exposed to the Simplex Method in a Game Theory Class at UCLA in 1967 in which the FDA wanted to solve the minimum daily requirement of vitamins, minerals, proteins, etc. that people needed each day and still be able to spend the minimum amount of money on food items in which each food item cost a certain amount per pound and each food item contained a certain amount of mg/pound of some of the needed vitamins, minerals, proteins, etc. I never understood the explaination in the class, because it contained none of what Gilbert explained in this lecture. Now I understand more of how the Simplex Method works. I am looking forward to the next lecture 30 on this.
