We introduce an estimation procedure for the error distribution based on additive relations in a nonparametric setting with application to software testing. Therein, we face a nonlinear statistical inverse problem, which can be solved by Fourier methods. We derive exact conﬁdence intervals and prove rate-optimality for the derived method.
